Christmas Light Installation in Clinton, Montana

Clinton is about 25 minutes east of Missoula on I-90, and we schedule it on east-side route days with Bonner and the Highway 200 homes so installs out this way are grouped.

Clinton is twenty-five minutes east of Missoula on I-90, strung along the Clark Fork between Turah and the Rock Creek exit, and most of the homes are on acreage rather than in a town grid. Montana Lights is owned and operated by Constructive Brothers, a licensed and insured Missoula construction company, and we bring the full holiday lighting service out here. That means commercial-grade LED strands cut to your roofline, mini lights for the trees near the house, a free design visit and quote before anything starts, maintenance for the whole season, and a January takedown with the strands going back to our storage. You are not asked to buy anything or climb anything.

Clinton properties are shaped by the river and the interstate. Many homes sit on the bench between the frontage road and the Clark Fork, with big cottonwoods along the water and ponderosas up the hillside behind, and the house is often visible from I-90 for a mile or more. Up Rock Creek Road the homes turn into cabins and fishing places on narrow lots under heavy timber, with steep metal roofs and driveways that get snow before anywhere in Missoula does. Both kinds of property get cold, and the canyon pulls a steady wind through in December. We build every install around those two facts, with clipped sockets and tight lines, and strands rated for sub-zero nights.

Clinton is grouped with Bonner and the Highway 200 homes or run as its own east-side route day when we have several installs out this way, which is how we keep drive time from landing on your quote. Most Clinton homes come in between $900 and $2,500 for a first season and less in later seasons, since the strands are cut once and stored with us. Book by October 31 for the Lit by Thanksgiving Guarantee. The 48-Hour Repair Promise covers the season. Call (406) 207-2524 for a free design visit.

Lighting Homes in Clinton: What We Plan For

Rock Creek cabins

Cabins up Rock Creek Road are tucked into timber on narrow lots, and the road itself can be slick well before Thanksgiving. We schedule Rock Creek installs early in November when we can still get a truck and trailer in, and we keep the design simple: a roofline in warm white and one wrapped tree by the door.

Seen from the interstate

A lit house on the Clinton bench is visible to every car on I-90 between Turah and the Rock Creek exit, which is more eyes than any street in Missoula gets. For those homes we use bright, evenly spaced C9 bulbs on the roofline facing the highway and put the detail work on the side you see from the driveway.

River cottonwoods and ice

The cottonwoods along the Clark Fork in Clinton are big, and the river fog that forms under them on cold nights leaves ice on everything by morning. We wrap trunks with commercial-grade mini lights that shrug off ice, and we keep the roofline strands away from the eave edges where ice dams build so the wire never gets pinched.

FAQs

Clinton Questions

Do you install lights on cabins up Rock Creek?
Yes, as far up Rock Creek Road as a truck and trailer can safely get in November. Cabin installs are usually a warm-white C9 roofline and a wrapped tree or two near the door, since heavy timber hides anything farther out. If the cabin is a second home and you are not there, that is fine. We install, send photos, maintain it through the season and take it down in January without you needing to make the drive.
How does the cold in Clinton affect the lights?
Clinton and the Rock Creek canyon get colder than Missoula on still nights, and cheap lights fail in that cold at the sockets and where the wire flexes. The commercial-grade LED strands we install have heavier jackets and sealed bulb bases and are built for exactly that weather. If something does fail, the 48-Hour Repair Promise means a crew is back within two days, at no charge.
Can you do the whole thing while I am at work in Missoula?
Yes, and that is how most Clinton installs happen. After the free design visit and an approved quote, the crew comes out on the scheduled day, installs and tests everything, sets the timer for dusk, and texts you photos. You come home to a lit house, and the same goes for takedown in January. If there is a gate code or a dog, tell us when you book.
