Christmas Light Installation in Florence, Montana

Florence is about 25 minutes south of Missoula on US-93, and we schedule it on Bitterroot route days so several installs in the north valley happen on the same trip.

Florence is where the Bitterroot Valley starts to open up, and it is where our Bitterroot route days begin. Montana Lights is a Missoula company owned and operated by Constructive Brothers, a licensed and insured construction firm, and we bring the same crews and lifts down US-93 that we use in town. The service is complete: we furnish commercial-grade LED lighting cut to fit your roofline, design it with you during a free visit, hang it, keep it working through the holidays, and pull it down in January to store until next fall. You do not buy anything or store anything.

Florence is spread out. There are newer homes on the benches off the Eastside Highway with steep metal roofs and big south-facing windows, and older places tucked along One Horse Creek and Eightmile Creek under mature cottonwoods. A handful of small acreages have barns and long fences that owners like to outline. Snow arrives earlier here than in Missoula and the valley wind can strip a sloppy install in one night, so we use commercial clips on every bulb and secure tree wraps at the trunk. Metal roofs get low-profile clips that hold under sliding snow, and we keep strands clear of the spots where ice dams form.

Because Florence is grouped with our other Bitterroot stops, we schedule installs there in route days, which keeps drive time off your bill. Most homes run $700 to $2,500 the first season and less after that, since the custom-cut strands stay in our storage between seasons. Book by October 31 for the Lit by Thanksgiving Guarantee. Anything that fails mid-season is covered by the 48-Hour Repair Promise. Call (406) 207-2524 or request a free design visit and we will come measure the house.

Lighting Homes in Florence: What We Plan For

Early snow on the benches

Florence often has snow on the ground before Missoula does, and once the roof is loaded we do not walk it. Booking in October means your roofline goes up on dry shingles. If you call later we can still do it, but a snowy metal roof sometimes means working from the lift and the ground only.

Eastside Highway visibility

Homes facing the Eastside Highway and the Florence-Carlton school stretch of 93 get seen by every commuter in the north valley. For those we favor a bright, evenly spaced C9 roofline and a wrapped tree or two out front, since detail work on the back of the house is wasted on that kind of frontage.

Creek-bottom cottonwoods

The old cottonwoods along One Horse Creek and the Bitterroot River bottom are enormous, and their lower limbs are still well above ladder height. We wrap the trunk and first forks with mini lights from a lift, which gives you a lit tree visible from the road without anyone climbing a seventy-year-old cottonwood in December.

FAQs

Florence Questions

How do route days work for Florence?
We group Florence with Lolo, Stevensville and the rest of the Bitterroot so a crew can do several installs on one trip down the valley instead of driving back and forth. When you book, we give you a route day and a window for that day. It keeps our drive time down, which is how we hold Florence quotes inside the same $700 to $2,500 range most Missoula homes see.
Can you handle a metal roof on a newer Florence home?
Yes, and we see a lot of them on the benches east of town. Standing-seam and pro-panel roofs need clips that grip the seam or the drip edge without screws, and the strand has to sit where sliding snow will not shear it off. Our crews are construction workers first, so they know where the snow goes on a steep metal roof and route the line accordingly.
Do you take the lights down in Florence too, or is that on me?
We take everything down, in Florence and everywhere else we install. Takedown happens in January on the same route-day system as installs, and the strands go back to our storage in Missoula labeled with your address. The next fall we bring the same custom-cut set back out, which is why a returning season costs less than the first one. You never handle a strand.
